Volunteer: Multilingual Website Configuration
About the role
APILO serves immigrant communities across the Bay Area and is migrating its current WordPress site to Webflow. The existing site supports 11 languages (Chinese – Simplified and Traditional, Spanish, Vietnamese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Lao, Malay, and Thai) via GTranslate. We need a volunteer to replicate and improve this multilingual framework on the new Webflow site.
This project focuses solely on the technical framework; APILO will handle translation content separately. The goal is to configure language switching using Webflow's native localization features or compatible third-party tools.
Responsibilities
- Configure a multilingual framework on APILO’s Webflow site supporting Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Spanish, Vietnamese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Lao, Malay, and Thai.
- Document the process for how staff can add or update language support in the future without ongoing developer assistance.
Requirements
- Experience with Webflow’s native localization features or compatible third-party tools.
Success Metrics
- A community member can select their preferred language and navigate the site seamlessly.
- Staff have a clear, manageable process for maintaining and updating language support.
