This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections. Elev8 Villages is seeking an experienced communications strategist, brand strategist, or nonprofit marketing professional to help us create a clear and consistent messaging guide. Our organization is building a movement of belonging and future tiny home villages for youth aging out of foster care. As we prepare for a national awareness and partnership tour, we need a messaging framework that helps us communicate our mission consistently across multiple audiences. The volunteer will help us develop a 4-6 page messaging and positioning guide that includes: Organizational narrative and core story Key messaging pillars Audience-specific talking points (donors, sponsors, media, community partners, churches, and civic leaders) Recommended language for discussing youth aging out of foster care with dignity and without stigma Frequently used mission and impact statements Suggestions for strengthening overall positioning and clarity The final deliverable will serve as a foundational communication tool for staff, volunteers, board members, and future marketing partners. Every year, thousands of young people age out of foster care without the stable relationships, housing, and support systems many of us take for granted. The consequences can be devastating: homelessness, trafficking, addiction, incarceration, and chronic instability. Elev8 Villages exists to change that story. Our vision is to create communities where young adults aging out of foster care are not simply housed, but known, valued, mentored, and connected to a genuine sense of belonging. This messaging project is foundational to making that vision a reality. A clear and compelling message will help us communicate our mission more effectively to donors, sponsors, community partners, media outlets, volunteers, and future village supporters. By helping us tell this story well, the volunteer will directly contribute to our ability to build awareness, attract funding, form strategic partnerships, and ultimately launch the first Elev8 Village. The impact of this work extends far beyond a communications document. It helps create the conditions for young people who have experienced significant instability to find safety, opportunity, community, and hope. The ripple effects of that support can influence not only one life, but future families and generations to come. Elev8 Villages has already completed significant foundational work and is entering an implementation phase. We have a clearly defined mission, strategic plan, website, sponsorship materials, business plan, and existing written content that can be provided to the volunteer at project kickoff. Our leadership team has strong alignment around the organization's vision and goals and is prepared to provide timely feedback throughout the project. The volunteer will have direct access to the founder for clarification and decision-making, ensuring efficient progress. The completed messaging guide will be immediately implemented across fundraising materials, sponsorship outreach, media communications, website content, and our upcoming national tour. Elev8 Villages, Inc. Mission: We provide holistic eco villages where vulnerable youth transform.
