About the Role

We are seeking a volunteer to assist in the creation of a clear advocacy strategy for Seniors in Distress. This strategy will include a concise messaging framework and a six-month action plan with priority tactics, timelines, and recommended channels. The volunteer will draft core messages and a practical sequence of activities, with specific audiences and materials defined during the project kickoff.

This project aims to strengthen our ability to protect seniors 60+ from neglect, abuse, and fraud across Florida by clarifying messages and prioritizing outreach and advocacy steps. The volunteer’s work will help increase awareness, support community mobilization, and enable staff to act more effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with staff to review existing materials and refine target audiences and key messages.
  • Develop a concise messaging framework tailored to defined audiences.
  • Create a six-month action plan outlining priority tactics, timelines, and recommended outreach channels.
  • Draft core advocacy messages and a practical sequence of activities.
  • Produce an implementable handoff plan to ensure the team can adopt the strategy after the engagement.

About the Organization

Seniors in Distress Mission: Our mission is to create a safe space to care for and protect seniors 60 and older from neglect, abuse, and fraud wherever they live or visit in Florida (with plans to expand nationwide soon).
