Volunteer: Social Media Templates for Our Nonprofit

About the role

Free Brands is a survivor-led nonprofit creating entrepreneurship pathways for survivors of trafficking and gender-based violence. We need a designer to build a library of on-brand, reusable Canva templates for our social media posts (Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn). The goal is to enable consistent, sustainable posting without recreating content from scratch each time.

You’ll work directly with the founder to create templates that maintain brand consistency while offering variety. Each template should be adapted to the optimal sizes for each platform (not stretched to fit).

Responsibilities

• Design reusable Canva templates for key post types, including:
  • Foundational "who we are and what we do" posts (pinnable to profiles and featured on LinkedIn).
  • "Wealth Shifting Wednesday" series templates that reframe wealth as freedom and spotlight survivor-owned businesses, with space for survivor-defined perspectives.
  • "New business welcome" templates to celebrate directory additions, with iterations for visual freshness.
  • Member graphics for survivors to post on their own socials, plus a short "how to use this" guide encouraging them to add their Free Brands link in their bio and tag us.
• Ensure templates are platform-specific (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) for optimal display.
• Deliver a library of templates that makes social media posting efficient and sustainable for our small team.

Requirements

• Experience designing for social media, with a portfolio demonstrating reusable, on-brand templates.
• Proficiency in Canva (templates must be editable and reusable within Canva).
• Ability to adapt designs for multiple platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
• Strong understanding of brand consistency and visual variety.
• Responsiveness and ability to work quickly with direct feedback from the founder.
