(Volunteer) Governance Architect

Gender Freedom Society is a 100% volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) nonprofit based virtually in the United States. We are dedicated to educating and supporting the transgender community while striving to normalize transgender existence within broader society. Through educational platforms, outreach efforts, and moderated social media, we cultivate a culture where transgender rights are respected, and gender diversity is celebrated as vital to human identity.

About the role

As a (Volunteer) Governance Architect for Gender Freedom Society, you will play an important role in creating and implementing internal policies, and ensuring the organization’s strategy is executed by clarifying roles, setting controls, and guiding consistent decision-making across functions.

Responsibilities

• Provide the structural framework for decision-making, oversight, and alignment with organization objectives, values, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure that roles, responsibilities, and workflows are clearly defined and integrated across organization domains.
• Identify, monitor, and mitigate regulatory, operational, and reputational risks.
• Standardize decision-making and organization processes across departments and teams.
• Enhance visibility into resource allocation, reducing waste and duplication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Informatics, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS Redshift, or Google BigQuery.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience designing database schemas and structures.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across all organization teams.
