Volunteer: Organizational Governance Improvement

About the Role

We are seeking a volunteer with expertise in Board Development and Board Governance to conduct an audit of our board and board processes. The goal is to deliver a clear, prioritized set of steps to improve organizational governance, addressing challenges such as frequent board member turnover that hinders consistent progress.

Responsibilities

• Assess current board structure, processes, and effectiveness.
• Identify key gaps or inefficiencies in governance practices.
• Develop a prioritized action plan with concrete steps for the board and leadership to implement.
• Provide guidance on best practices for board development and retention.

Qualifications

• Expertise in board development, governance, or nonprofit organizational leadership.
• Experience conducting board assessments or audits.
• Knowledge of best practices for nonprofit board structure and operations.
• Strong analytical and report-writing skills.

About the Organization

Valley Lacrosse Alliance Mission: Our goal is to encourage and promote leadership, character, and competition through the sport of lacrosse in Central Pierce County and the Puyallup Valley area, encompassing Fife, Puyallup, Franklin-Pierce, Bethel, and Eatonville school districts.
