Vocational Services Coordinator

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and supervision for all human service program operations in Peckham’s Business Services.
  • Support and supervise Business service staff via coaching, training, goal setting, encouragement, information/resources, and feedback.
  • Collaborate with the Business Services Management to provide quality employment services to persons served while meeting business needs.
  • Offer clinical consultation to staff for effective service plan development, progress tracking, and achievement of desirable outcomes.
  • Supervise maintenance of case file records, program evaluation information, and quality documents in accordance with both Peckham and CARF standards.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as the lead in providing direct vocational evaluation, situational assessment and work adjustment training services to referred participants as needed.
  • Provide person-centered case management services to individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment.
  • Aid program participants in developing an individualized program plan in consideration of their vocational goals, strengths, interests, functional limitations, and potential utilization of assistive technology and other job accommodations.
  • Process initial intake documents; maintain electronic case files for program participants.
  • Deliver one-on-one counseling, coaching and/or training with program participants when needed and/or requested. Provide human resources support to program participants, including new hire orientation, FMLA management, and support with corrective action as needed.
  • Analyze client, community and referral source needs through survey results, town hall meetings, direct feedback and demographic studies, etc. to improve and develop quality services in order to meet expressed needs.
  • Maintain relationships with community partners, agencies, families and other stakeholders.
  • Make continuous improvement efforts in program design, service delivery, and customer service in order to meet the changing needs of stakeholders.
  • Utilize a team approach to provide support and resource to the entire Apparel Manufacturing staff in advancing Peckham’s mission.
  • Facilitate effective communication and interactions between services and operations teams as well as and Peckham headquarters.
  • Provide individual counseling and crisis intervention for participants as needed.
  • Promote Peckham’s vision, value, culture, and commitment to excellent customer services to all team members, staff, customers and stakeholders.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position supervises staff positions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2-3 years of experience supporting individuals with disabilities or barriers to employment in vocational, workforce development, human services, or case management settings.
  • Or 4-6 years of experience supporting individuals with disabilities or barriers to employment in vocational, workforce development, human services, or case management settings.
  • 1-2 years of experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others.
  • Knowledge of program compliance requirements, including experience supporting documentation, audits, or reporting aligned with regulatory or accreditation standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (M.A.) in Rehabilitation Counseling.
  • L.P.C. – Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (may be obtained after hire).
