About the role

The Virtual Business Banker II (VBB II) is responsible for daily operations, execution and support of inbound/outbound phone-based retention and sales efforts within a virtual environment. The VBB II focuses on retaining and deepening existing complex and high net worth small business owner relationships through cross-selling additional business products and services. They are expected to build relationships that may lead to sourcing additional products and services through outbound phone activities. The VBB II must have a thorough understanding of the complex business cash flow cycle and apply advanced business credit sales skills during client interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and deepen the assigned book of business, including acquiring new relationships through assigned leads, referrals, and sales campaigns.
  • Build and foster a strong team of partners, including Treasury Management Officers, Merchant Services representatives, Business Card Representatives, Market Credit Executives, and Sales Support personnel.
  • Proactively engage clients and prospects, multitasking effectively in a virtual setting.
  • Navigate customer relationship management software and other relevant applications simultaneously.
  • Utilize Sales Relationship Management system for calls, pipeline activities, and sales results.
  • Maintain a regular calling cadence to generate high-quality new deposit, treasury, and lending business, achieving or exceeding targets.
  • Assess customer needs and recommend alternative products or solutions through defined sales processes.
  • Maintain rapport with clients and prospects, demonstrate a clear understanding of the business' operating model, and recommend appropriate products.
  • Refer customers to appropriate channels for Treasury Management and Merchant Service product needs and follow up to ensure products/accounts are opened and engaged.
  • Understand and adhere to risk management/compliance protocols within the sales process and in all client and prospect interactions.
  • Collaborate on various special projects or initiatives as assigned.
  • Demonstrate Capital One’s values in interactions with peers, customers, direct reports, and supervisors.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of Business Banking experience
  • Preferred: 5+ years Business Banking experience, 1+ year of phone-based sales experience, Formal credit training
