About the Role
At VIPcare, we specialize in primary care for patients 65+ with a mission to provide 5-star service that always puts patient care and outcomes first. As an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), you will provide exceptional medical care by conducting physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing patient treatment plans under the supervision of a physician. This is a safety-sensitive position involving direct patient care and administering medication.
Responsibilities
- Practice medicine under the supervision of a physician, using sound medical judgment and adhering to ethical standards; stay updated on current technologies and industry standards.
- Provide care for patients with acute and chronic illnesses in the older adult population, ensuring accountability for patient care and outcomes.
- Seek consultation from specialists when needed while remaining involved in the detailed care of the patient.
- Engage with hospitalists when patients are hospitalized.
- Ensure compliance with accrediting agencies, CLIA, drug prescription regulations, HIPAA, state and federal regulations, and safety standards.
- Assess, diagnose, treat, manage, educate, and coordinate care for patients with acute and complex chronic health needs using evidence-based medicine and practice guidelines.
- Follow all internal policies and procedures to ensure appropriate clinical processing and documentation.
- Maintain complete and detailed electronic medical records (EMR) of patients’ health care plans and prognosis within 48 hours of each visit.
- Provide patients with health promotion, risk reduction, and disease prevention/management information.
- Analyze and interpret patient histories, symptoms, physical findings, and diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.
- Interpret diagnostic results (e.g., blood gases, radiology, EKG) in collaboration with the supervising physician.
- Exhibit compassionate, high-quality, loyal, and conscientious behavior while building effective relationships with patients, families, and team members.
- Document continuing education per licensure and certification requirements.
- Ensure patients are seen by the Physician every other visit.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with policy and HIPAA requirements.
- Follow the proper chain of command for patient complaints.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Certified as a nurse practitioner with current state licensure.
- At least 1 year of professional nursing experience, with 1-3 years of experience as a primary care nurse practitioner.
- Prior experience working in an electronic medical records (EMR) system.
- ACLS/BLS certification as mandated by state.
- Demonstrated knowledge of appropriate patient care rationale and ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, teaching ability, and strong telephone skills.
- Working knowledge of Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for real-time collaboration.

Physical Requirements
- Full range of body motion, including handling and transferring patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing, walking, pushing, bending, kneeling, and reaching at arm’s length and overhead for prolonged periods in a clinic setting.
- Ability to lift and move patients and medical equipment as needed.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 15 lbs.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle with own means of transportation.
