Videographer – Educational Ad, San Diego
About the role
We are seeking an experienced videographer to capture an educational video ad for a San Diego-based mattress brand. The project centers on filming the founder in a showroom setting, delivering clear, honest, and informative content aimed at helping consumers identify mattress quality. The shoot will focus on authenticity, using natural lighting and clean audio to create a trustworthy, approachable feel.
The ideal candidate is local to San Diego, skilled in directing non-actors, and experienced with social ad content. No editing is required; the emphasis is on capturing high-quality footage that aligns with the brand’s warm and educational tone.
Deliverables
- One 75–90 second hero video featuring the founder talking to camera, product demonstrations, and b-roll.
- Three short vertical cutdowns (15–30 seconds each) for Reels, TikTok, and Shorts.
- B-roll footage of the showroom, mattress materials, and factory.
- All footage delivered in formats suitable for Meta and YouTube.
- Clean audio and natural lighting throughout.
- Half-day shoot at the San Diego showroom.
Requirements
- Proven experience filming short-form social ads or talking-head content.
- Ability to direct non-actor talent to achieve natural, authentic performances.
- Proficient with audio capture and natural lighting setups.
- Owns or has access to professional video and audio equipment.
- Local to San Diego or able to travel to the showroom.
- Strong organizational skills to follow a provided script and shot list.
- Ability to deliver raw footage promptly in required formats.
- Professional, reliable, and able to work efficiently within a half-day shoot window.
