About the role

The Video and Multimedia Producer manages the OSU Foundation’s video and multimedia efforts and leads the organization’s strategy for digital storytelling. Key responsibilities include creating short-form social media content, longer-form narrative videos, motion graphics, and other multimedia to support fundraising and engagement goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a social media video strategy, including short-form content optimized for each platform.
  • Supervise outsourced multimedia work and serve as a liaison with University Relations and Marketing, other videographers, and creative professionals.
  • Create compelling short-form and long-form videos that tell the stories of OSU students, faculty, and donors, aiming to inspire philanthropic support and engage audiences.
  • Scout filming locations, conduct research and pre-interviews, manage video and audio equipment, arrange travel logistics, conduct interviews, capture b-roll, and execute post-production.
  • Produce platform-optimized short-form video content across the Foundation's social media channels, including formats like Reels, Shorts, and social clips.
  • Work with the creative team to produce animated graphics and other digital storytelling tools that convey facts and numbers in engaging ways.
  • Collaborate with OSU Foundation trustees and Oregon State University’s top donors to ensure they have a great experience during pre-production, filming, and post-production.
  • Edit video footage into a compelling story, place b-roll, and create supporting animated graphics.
  • Maintain a system for organizing and storing archived video projects for the department.
  • Collect and store model releases for on-screen talent.
  • Maintain a system curating and organizing b-roll that can be shared with internal and campus partners.
  • Shoot photography and color correct images for select projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to handle interpersonal relationships maturely, thoughtfully, and empathetically, including the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience in a professional setting as a videographer, motion graphics designer, or video producer.
  • Strong storytelling skills, demonstrated skill producing short-form video for social media platforms, strong writing and strategic communications skills, mastery of digital video equipment, proficiency capturing quality audio and working with three-point and natural lighting.
  • An interest in receiving and maintaining FAA drone certification (Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate) is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in film and video, photography, journalism, digital communication, graphic design, or closely related field.
  • Three years of experience in a professional setting as a videographer, motion graphics designer, or video producer.
