Production, Supervisor
About the role
This position partners closely with Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, and other departments to drive continuous improvement initiatives, foster a positive work environment, and achieve production goals. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who excels at coaching teams, solving problems, and maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead and promote healthy and safe work practices in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Perform quality checks on equipment, processes, and work areas to ensure customer and quality standards are met.
- Develop and manage employee work schedules to achieve production and operational goals.
- Delegate responsibilities and provide direction to team members to ensure efficient workflow.
- Train, cross-train, evaluate, and develop employees while providing ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
- Initiate and support disciplinary actions when necessary in accordance with company policies.
- Monitor and supervise cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Generate and review daily operational reports to ensure shift continuity and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Identify, communicate, and escalate maintenance concerns to minimize downtime and support operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with the Quality Department to establish, maintain, and improve quality standards.
- Develop and implement action plans to improve productivity, efficiency, and overall plant performance.
- Document injuries, investigate incidents, recommend corrective actions, and follow up to ensure a safe work environment.
- Participate in hiring activities and support employee onboarding, coaching, development, and performance management.
- Review and recommend personnel actions for approval.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance.
Requirements
- Associate degree with an emphasis in Management, Supervision, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of manufacturing and warehouse systems, including MES, SAP, or similar platforms.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to build productive working relationships and foster teamwork across departments.
- Strong coaching and employee development skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Abilities
- Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the facility as needed.
- Ability to respond to operational issues across production and warehouse areas.
- Ability to perform additional physical activities required to support plant operations.
