Vice President, Sales – Men's Private Label

About the Role
The Vice President, Sales – Men's Private Label will drive profitable revenue growth and expand strategic partnerships across men's intimates, underwear, basics, loungewear, sleepwear, and apparel categories. This role serves as a key commercial leader focused on identifying, developing, and growing business opportunities with leading brands and retailers. The ideal candidate will leverage industry relationships, product expertise, and market knowledge to secure new business, expand existing partnerships, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, profitable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies to drive profitable growth across men's private label and branded apparel categories.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities with leading brands, retailers, and strategic partners.
- Expand existing customer relationships and uncover opportunities for category growth and market share expansion.
- Lead customer presentations, line reviews, business pitches, and commercial negotiations.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective customers and new business opportunities.
- Establish and maintain senior-level relationships with key decision-makers across brands and retailers.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to customers, understanding their objectives, assortment strategies, pricing architecture, and product needs.
- Partner with customers to develop product solutions that meet market demands while achieving financial objectives.
- Represent the company at industry events, customer meetings, and marketplace functions.
- Develop a deep understanding of men's intimates, underwear, basics, loungewear, sleepwear, and apparel categories.
- Partner with Design and Product Development teams to identify market opportunities and develop compelling product assortments.
- Understand garment construction, fabrication, product development, sourcing, and manufacturing processes.
- Analyze product costing, margin requirements, and pricing strategies to ensure profitable growth.
- Provide customer and market insights that influence product innovation and assortment development.
- Own sales, margin, and profitability performance across assigned business.
- Analyze sales trends, customer performance, and financial results to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Partner with Planning, Sourcing, and Finance teams to optimize pricing, margins, inventory investments, and business forecasts.
- Negotiate programs and pricing structures that support both customer objectives and company profitability goals.
- Drive disciplined business management with a focus on revenue growth and margin expansion.
- Partner closely with Design, Product Development, Sourcing, Production, Planning, Marketing, and Finance teams to ensure seamless execution from product concept through customer delivery.
- Communicate customer requirements, business opportunities, and marketplace feedback across the organization.
- Lead cross-functional teams to support key customer initiatives and business growth opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive sales leadership experience within apparel, intimates, underwear, basics, or related consumer products categories.
- Proven success driving private label or branded apparel business.
- Strong network of relationships within the apparel industry, including brands, retailers, and key decision-makers.
- Deep understanding of men's apparel, intimates, underwear, basics, and adjacent product categories.
- Strong knowledge of product costing, sourcing, manufacturing, and margin management.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, pursue, negotiate, and close new business opportunities.
- Strong financial acumen, including pricing strategy, gross margin management, forecasting, and retail math.
- Exceptional presentation, negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for growth and business development.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and business analytics tools.
- Ability to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with leading national retailers, brands, and private label businesses.
- Existing relationships with brands and retailers across the men's apparel and intimates marketplace.
- Experience selling programs involving underwear, basics, sleepwear, loungewear, activewear, or adjacent categories.
- Demonstrated success building and scaling strategic customer partnerships.
Schedule
This is a hybrid role, with 4 days per week in the New York office.
Pay
$275,000/yr - $320,000/yr. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to experience, specialized skills, and internal alignment.
