About the role

The VP, Portfolio Management is responsible for financial analysis, preparing underwriting documents, and managing credit exposure for corporate clients. They also oversee ongoing credit monitoring and risk assessment, review legal documentation, and assist in cross-selling additional bank products.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze financial data for clients, including spreadsheets and legal documentation.
  • Analyze historical performance and calculate credit metrics.
  • Model future financial performance and prepare thorough credit underwriting documents.
  • Manage the approval process for lending commitments, amendments, waivers, and consents.
  • Review and maintain legal documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor accounts and track financial performance, ensuring timely changes to risk ratings.
  • Identify potential problem accounts and work with the Asset Recovery Group.
  • Attend management presentations and conduct site visits to monitor business conditions.
  • Contribute to white papers on assigned industry segments and provide guidance to junior staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of commercial underwriting, credit, banking, or financial services experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and able to learn and utilize other technology applications.
  • Strong financial analysis and modeling skills.
  • Experience structuring financial covenants for syndicated debt facilities.
  • Experience managing the left lead/administrative agent role in syndicated deals.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively and lead work independently.
