About the role

The VP, Portfolio Management is responsible for financial analysis and preparing underwriting documents to support corporate credit requests. They also perform credit monitoring and risk rating, review legal documentation, and assist in cross-selling additional bank products.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze financial data for clients or prospects, including spreading financial statements and analyzing historical performance.
  • Model future financial performance of clients and prospects, including downside scenarios.
  • Structure transactions, collaborate with Business Partners/Bankers/Relationship Managers, and provide feedback to junior staff.
  • Manage the approval process for lending commitments, amendments, waivers, and consents, including monitoring and reporting.
  • Review and maintain legal documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations and certifications.
  • Monitor accounts and track financial performance, ensuring data integrity and timely changes in risk ratings.
  • Identify potential problem accounts and work with the Asset Recovery Group to improve the bank's position.
  • Attend management presentations and conduct site visits to monitor business conditions and identify new opportunities.
  • Contribute to or prepare white papers on assigned industry segments, and provide guidance and feedback to Analysts and Associates.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of commercial underwriting, credit, banking, or financial services experience.
  • Commercial and Industrial (C&I) underwriting experience preferred.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and able to learn and utilize other technology applications.
  • Demonstrated competence in financial analysis and modeling.
  • Experience structuring financial covenants for syndicated debt facilities.
  • Experience managing the left lead/administrative agent role in syndicated deals.
  • Ability to lead discussions with clients and act as a primary lending representative.
  • Knowledge of business and legal elements of credit agreements and ability to work with counsel.
  • Solid understanding of banking and investment banking products and services.
  • Effective and polished presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, multi-task, manage time effectively, and lead work independently.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in finance, accounting, economics, and/or business (required).
  • MBA (preferred).

Benefits

Eligible for a base salary ranging from $96,000.00 to $181,000.00 annually, with potential for incentive compensation including production, commission, and discretionary incentives. Benefits include a comprehensive list available upon request.
