About the role

Moderna is seeking a strategic, enterprise-minded individual to lead Global Market Access, Pricing, and Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) across the company’s marketed and pipeline assets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead global access and reimbursement strategies for Moderna’s portfolio, thereby enabling optimal patient access and bringing value to patients and the healthcare ecosystem
  • Partner effectively with franchises, markets, and support functions to enable execution of global strategies and deliver on core deliverables (access strategy, value proposition, pricing policy, contracting strategy, launch sequencing, evidence generation plans, publications, dossiers, economic models, and negotiation tools)
  • Collaborate with Global Marketing to ensure that access, reimbursement, and value considerations are factored into product and portfolio strategies, operating plans, and forecasts
  • Collaborate with R&D and New Product Planning to ensure access, reimbursement, and value considerations are factored into clinical development plans and pipeline prioritization
  • Establish global pricing, tendering, and contracting strategies in close collaboration with regions and markets, ensuring protocols and operations are efficient and compliant
  • Monitor the evolving market access and healthcare policy landscape, communicate risks and opportunities, and proactively shape the environment to enable patient access to our portfolio
  • Partner with cross-functional team members in Commercial Operations, Policy, Marketing, Sales, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Legal, Compliance, and Finance to ensure the global strategy can be executed locally
  • Lead and strengthen a high-performing global function, evolving capabilities in access strategy, pricing, HEOR, and evidence generation to support a growing and diversified portfolio
  • Continue to build access capabilities for Moderna inside and outside the department

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, including both global and US roles, with 8+ years of Market Access leadership experience spanning pricing, reimbursement, HEOR, and policy
  • Deep understanding and experience developing and leading implementation of access, value demonstration, pricing, tendering, contracting and negotiation strategies
  • Expertise in international pricing interdependencies, health technology assessment, and the economics of healthcare systems
  • Thorough knowledge of evidence-based medicine standards, patient reported outcomes, global and local healthcare policies, key pricing and market access regulations and practices in US, EU, UK, and Asia Pacific
  • Proven leadership skills to manage a diverse team with multiple priorities across varied businesses and collaborate and influence within a matrixed organization

Qualifications

  • Relationships with 3rd party payers (commercial / government payers), distribution and trade (3PL, wholesalers, specialty, and retail pharmacy), physician networks, and healthcare systems

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.
