Vice President, External CMC Operations
for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). So we need to map sections accordingly. The headings we can use: About Azalea (maybe "About the company"? but they said "About the role" as example; we can use "About Azalea" as heading). "Why This Matters" maybe not a standard heading; but we can include if content present. "The Opportunity" maybe similar to "About the role". "Key Responsibilities" -> Responsibilities. "Qualifications" -> Qualifications (with sub Minimum/Preferred maybe as lists). "What Success Looks Like (first 3–6 months)" maybe could be "Goals" or "Objectives"? Not in list but we could include as a section if content present; but they said only include sections when posting has real specific content. It does have content. Could use heading "What Success Looks Like". "Working Conditions / Physical Requirements" maybe "Working Conditions". "Compensation And Benefits" -> Compensation and Benefits (maybe separate Pay and Benefits). They said use headings like Benefits, Pay, Schedule. So we could split: Pay (salary range) and Benefits (maybe none explicit besides compensation). The posting includes "Compensation And Benefits" with salary range. No other benefits listed. So we could have a Pay section with salary range, and maybe Benefits omitted if none. But they said never create Benefits section unless posting actually states them. There's no explicit benefits besides salary. So we should not create Benefits section. We could include Pay section with salary range. Also Schedule? Not mentioned. So omit Schedule. We need to remove boilerplate: EEO, Reasonable Accommodation, Applicant Privacy, Job Description Disclaimer, Notice to Recruiters, Information on Fraudulent Job Offers, etc. Also remove cookie/navigation/legal etc. So we keep only substantive info: About Azalea, Why This Matters, The Opportunity, Key Responsibilities (list), Qualifications (Minimum, Preferred), What Success Looks Like (first 3–6 months), Working Conditions / Physical Requirements, Compensation And Benefits (salary). Also maybe "Location: Berkeley, California" etc. Should we include location as metadata? Could be in a short

or drop it. So we can include location, department, reports to, employment type, FLSA status in a short paragraph. We must preserve ALL substantive information; do not invent or summarize away detail. So we need to keep all bullet points etc. We need to use

We need to use

Then sections:About Azalea
Azalea Therapeutics is enabling precision genome engineering directly inside the body, with an initial focus on creating cancer immunotherapies in vivo . Azalea is pioneering a new way to turn a person’s own T cells into a powerful cancer therapy — directly inside the body. Instead of removing cells and manipulating them in a lab, we use precision genome editing tools to engineer T cells where they already live. At the center of our approach are Enveloped Delivery Vehicles, or EDVs. As highly selective couriers, EDVs are designed to specifically locate T cells within the patient and deliver our genome engineering cargo. Once inside the cell, the anti-cancer agent is inserted into a precise site in the genome, ensuring safe and potent modifications to fortify the T cells against cancers.
Why This Matters
We aim to make cell therapy faster and more accessible by avoiding complex manufacturing outside the body. Our platform is designed for precision, so the right cells are safely programmed to effectively fight cancer. This technology has the potential to treat a wide range of cancers with a streamlined, scalable process. Our goal is simple: develop next-generation delivery technologies to bring genetic engineering and cell therapies to more patients.
The Opportunity
Azalea is seeking a Vice President, External CMC Operations to lead the strategy and execution of external manufacturing and CMC activities including the development of its lead program toward first-in-human studies, further development of the first program during clinical phases, and development of additional programs into the clinical pipeline. This role will be responsible for building and managing Azalea’s external manufacturing ecosystem, including Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMO) relationships, timelines, process transfer, and operational coordination across process development, analytical development, quality, regulatory, supply chain and clinical teams. The Vice President, External CMC Operations will play a central role in ensuring Azalea’s programs progress efficiently from early development through GMP manufacturing readiness, aligning external partners with internal program timelines and regulatory milestones, and delivering clinical supply to patients across global clinical sites. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader with deep expertise in CMC execution, viral-vector manufacturing, and CDMO management, who thrives in early-stage biotech environments and enjoys translating complex science into manufacturable therapies.

We should not include Benefits section as none specified. Check we didn't repeat job title as heading. Good. We usedfor section headings. We also used
for subheadings inside Qualifications; is that allowed? The instruction only mentions using
for section headings; using
might be okay as it's not a section heading but a subheading. However to be safe we could avoid

then list. But usingis still a heading tag; not prohibited but they said use
