About the role

We are seeking a VP Business Services (Commercial Banking) to work closely with small to medium-sized businesses. The role involves delivering customized solutions such as loans, lines of credit, and treasury management services. Key responsibilities include ensuring member satisfaction, building long-term relationships, identifying business growth opportunities, collaborating with other departments, and staying informed about financial regulations and market trends.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new member relationships through organized prospecting efforts.
  • Provide outstanding, accurate, and timely service to members.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Credit and Operations teams through clear communication and mutual respect.
  • Represent Business Services at community events and local non-profits.
  • Implement and promote Business Services initiatives to strengthen member experience and profitability.
  • Manage performance metrics demonstrating loan and deposit growth, fee income, and portfolio quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of financial institution experience, with at least three years in business lending and relationship management.
  • Professional interpersonal skills essential for interacting with credit union staff and members.
  • Expert knowledge of business lending, deposit acquisition, and treasury management products and strategies.
  • Past experience in business development and leadership roles.
  • Thorough understanding of laws and regulations governing lending and deposit products.
  • Ability to ask in-depth questions and effectively negotiate.
  • In-depth mathematical skills required for calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, dividends, interest, amortization, payoffs, and equity.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and intermediate knowledge of Excel.
