About the Role

As a Vice President, Commercial Banker II - Commercial, you'll identify a target market for new business and develop a book of new business from those relationships. You'll negotiate, underwrite, and coordinate the closing of major and complex loans in compliance with the Bank’s lending policies, while developing business checking and deposit relationships with customers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with deposit-related products and services, gathering and analyzing client information to recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Compile and analyze market research data to develop recommendations for products and services tailored to the target market.
  • Engage in business development activities and solicit new business based on the target market.
  • Call and visit target customers to promote and sell Bank products and services, establishing a new book of business.
  • Develop and maintain a customer database, including calls and results on all new business relationships, and report to superiors as required.
  • Interview prospective applicants, request specified information related to loan or credit applications, and resolve questions regarding application information.
  • Perform pre-qualification assessments and analyze the financial condition and risk of financing requests within the Bank’s credit culture and current economic trends.
  • Gather all necessary information to present financing requests to senior management or Loan Committee for approval; meet with new/potential customers; visit loan sites; negotiate loan terms; and recommend acceptance to the Chief Credit Officer or Loan Committee.
  • Coordinate processing of approved loans, ensuring they are processed according to agreement, customer needs, and Bank lending policies; obtain sufficient documentation from customers; and solve processing or servicing problems within your portfolio.
  • Maintain a superior knowledge of financial industry status and trends.
  • Recommend products and services experiencing less than satisfactory performance to senior management.
  • Represent the Bank in community, civic, and reinvestment functions to enhance the Bank’s image and develop additional business.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management, and other commercial banking products and services.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules, and regulations, as well as industry standards and practices.
  • Advanced knowledge in all facets of relationship management.
  • Advanced organizational and time management skills.
  • Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
  • May require up to 50% travel.

Pay

Salary range for new hires is $149,295.00 - $184,425.00 for Costa Mesa, CA. Salary amount is determined by specific job location. The role may also be eligible for annual bonus/incentives and restricted stock.
