Veterinary Surgeon (Soft Tissue)

About the role

The successful candidate will join our thriving Surgery practice at MedVet Salt Lake City. They will be part of a collaborative team that provides comprehensive care including 24/7 emergency services, specialty services in cardiology, critical care, internal medicine, medical oncology, neurology & neurosurgery, ophthalmology, radiology, radiation oncology, and surgery.

Responsibilities

• Provide surgical care to a variety of animal species under the supervision of the attending surgeon.
• Collaborate with the Medical Oncology department to provide comprehensive care for surgical oncology cases.
• Participate in case rounds and consultations with other specialists and veterinarians.
• Assist in the development and implementation of surgical protocols and procedures.
• Contribute to the education of veterinary students and interns through teaching and mentoring.

Requirements

• A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA accredited institution.
• Completion of a recognized surgical residency program.
• Current license to practice veterinary medicine in Utah.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Experience in soft tissue surgery preferred.
• Passion for providing high-quality veterinary care.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
