Veterinary Surgeon
About the role
The Mid Columbia Pet Emergency is seeking a residency-trained veterinarian or board-certified surgeon to join their team as they expand from an emergency to a specialty service provider. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, capable of leading the surgery service, and eager to contribute to the hospital's growth.
Responsibilities
- Initiate and lead the surgery service
- Contribute to the selection of equipment that aligns with personal preferences and enhances capabilities
- Provide exceptional care to patients, utilizing advanced tools such as cautery, ligasure, and an endoscope
- Mentor veterinary technicians and foster a supportive team environment
- Collaborate with the local veterinary technician school and maintain a low turnover rate among staff
Requirements
- Residency training or board certification in veterinary surgery
- Experience in emergency and/or specialty veterinary practice
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
- Current license to practice veterinary medicine in Washington State
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Pay
Compensation details will be discussed during the hiring process and will vary based on experience and qualifications.
