Veterinary Receptionist - Richland Hills, TX

Penny Paws Animal Hospital - Richland Hills is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team in a full-time capacity. This role offers a supportive and inspiring environment where you can grow both personally and professionally.

About the Role

As a Veterinary Receptionist, you’ll be the welcoming face of our clinic, assisting pet owners and their furry companions with care and expertise. You’ll work alongside a team that feels like family, in an atmosphere that’s both fun and rewarding.

Responsibilities

• Greet all clients with a positive greeting; answer phones, take messages, and answer basic client questions
• Understand the range of services the practice provides and the species it treats; advise clients and recommend services for their pets; provide estimates
• Differentiate and prioritize between routine cases and emergency cases and alert staff accordingly
• Understand and use special record notations, and make appropriate notes in patient records
• Be familiar with infectious and common zoonotic diseases, including prevention and steps to reduce or eliminate transmission
• Maintain medical records, establish or understand medical record filing systems
• Handle all cash transactions, including deposits and invoicing

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Animal care, client/customer interaction, or receptionist experience preferred but not required
• Excellent communication skills
• Possess a good attitude and contribute to a positive work environment
• Knowledge of and ability to use medical abbreviations preferred but not required
• Must be able to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
