About the role

Laguna Beach Animal Hospital, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, is seeking a Practice Manager to join their team. Located in Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel, and Aliso Viejo, this position offers a full-time, on-site opportunity with a history dating back to 1981.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a positive culture built on shared values and direct communication
  • Create operational efficiencies and problem-solve to improve client service and employee engagement
  • Exercise sound judgment and participate in Pathway Planning leadership meetings
  • Oversee business activities, including hiring and training staff, preparing and managing budgets, monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators, setting fees, maintaining inventory, implementing safety and security procedures, and managing hospital software

  • Motivate staff and help build and maintain morale
  • Uphold core values and standards
  • Hold regular staff meetings, including mandatory training on standards of service and standards of care
  • Promote a cooperative working environment among staff members
  • Understand the value of teamwork
  • Be willing to perform additional tasks to support the hospital's operations
  • Promote continuous quality improvement to ensure the practice's success and achieve its vision

Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • A commitment to outstanding client service
  • Demonstrated competence in budgeting and financial reporting, including reading and analyzing a P&L statement
  • Strong math and Excel/spreadsheet skills
  • Certified Veterinary Practice Manager designation or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • Preferred: three years or more of managing a veterinary practice
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance and objects weighing more than 40 pounds with assistance
  • Availability to occasionally work uncommon hours and overtime, and to be subject to recall for business emergencies

Pay

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience, with a salary of $65,000 to $75,000 annually. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Schedule

The Practice Manager position is full-time, on-site.
