About the role
Laguna Beach Animal Hospital, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, is seeking a Practice Manager to join their team. Located in Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel, and Aliso Viejo, this position is full-time and on-site.
Responsibilities
- Ensures a positive culture built on shared values and direct communication
- Creates operational efficiencies
- Solves problems to improve client service and employee engagement
- Exercises sound judgment and makes decisions
- Oversees business activities including hiring and training staff
- Works with Pathway finance to prepare and manage budgets
- Maintains key performance indicators, sets fees, manages inventory, implements safety and security procedures, and manages hospital software
Requirements
- Analyzes various sources of data to establish priorities and initiate operational programs
- Displays sound personal judgment in decision-making
- Manages, coaches, and leads staff at all levels
- Holds regular staff meetings, including mandatory training on standards of service and care
- Promotes a cooperative working environment and understands the value of teamwork
- Is willing to perform additional tasks to support the hospital's operations
- Promotes continuous quality improvement to ensure the practice's success and achieve its vision
Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance and more than 40 pounds with assistance
- Availability to work uncommon hours and overtime, and to be subject to recall for business emergencies
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- A commitment to outstanding client service
- Demonstrated competence in budgeting and financial reporting, including reading and analyzing a P&L statement
- Strong math and Excel/spreadsheet skills
- Certified Veterinary Practice Manager designation or equivalent work experience preferred
- Three years of supervisory experience
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
- Preferred: three years or more of managing a veterinary practice
