Veterinary Practice Manager

About the Role

The Seas Veterinary Practice Manager is an integral member of the Disney Animal Health (DAH) leadership team, working closely with other leaders and team members to provide excellent animal care, ensure efficient and effective function of the Animal Health operation, and partner with multiple teams throughout Disney’s Animals, Science, and Environment (ASE). This full-time, salaried, on-site role reports to a DAH Veterinary Operations Manager and operates on a five-day work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the Animal Health Practice at “The Seas with Nemo and Friends” at EPCOT.
• Manages the Veterinary Technician Team based at The Seas and part-time Veterinary Technicians.
• Serves as the DAH Point of Contact (PoC) for rehabilitation programs for sea turtles and manatees.
• Acts as the DAH PoC for Disney Castaway Cay, Aulani, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, and conservation initiatives for sea turtles, purple martins, butterflies, and more.
• Leads and supports the development of Cast Members (CMs), including regular meetings, goal-setting, and performance management.
• Collaborates with DAH managers to ensure operational coverage and departmental strategy implementation.
• Assists with front-line tasks, coordinates animal emergencies, and partners with various teams (Animal Care, Behavioral Husbandry, Water Sciences, etc.).
• Manages appointment scheduling, logistical communications, and equipment maintenance for The Seas Veterinary Practice.
• Oversees pharmacy and supply inventory, ensuring medications are consistently in stock.
• Ensures high-quality animal care, including staffing, equipment setup, and post-procedure follow-up for medical procedures.
• Partners with Behavioral Husbandry and other teams for training and rehabilitation programs.
• Participates in leadership meetings, rounds, and special projects to support DAH operations.

Qualifications

• Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or equivalent (e.g., LVT, RVT).
• Membership in AZA, AZVT, IAAAM, or other relevant professional organizations.
• Proven leadership and management skills.
• Knowledge/experience in veterinary practice management.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Three (3) years of full-time experience as a CVT (or equivalent) in an aquatic/zoologic facility.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with data management technologies (e.g., ZIMS, Microsoft Office, Workday).
• High school degree or equivalent required.

Pay

The hiring range for this position in Florida is $75,700.00-$101,400.00 per year. The base pay offered will consider internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, along with medical, financial, and other benefits.
