About the role
Cibolo Small Animal Hospital offers up to $1,500 travel stipend for clinical year externships.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gather patient histories, perform physical exams, create treatment plans, perform diagnostics, dental services, observe/supervise or perform surgical procedures, and manage medical cases.
- Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Requirements
New veterinary students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate in NVA externships. Students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.

Benefits
Students will gain hands-on experience and exposure to various aspects of veterinary medicine under the guidance of experienced veterinarians.
Pay
The stipend amount varies based on the duration of the externship and may range from $1,000 to $1,500.
Schedule
Most externship experiences at Cibolo Small Animal Hospital range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules.
