Job Description
Caton Crossing Animal Hospital is a small group dedicated to providing a low-stress, fear-free environment and high-quality medicine. We have an amazing Managing Veterinarian who loves to teach and a doctor on staff who performs orthopedic procedures. Our staff knows how to make a workday fun while getting work done!
About the Role
Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures, and managing medical cases. In addition to practicing clinical skills, student externs will have the opportunity to practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Requirements
Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate in NVA externships.

Skills
Students will develop skills in patient care, communication, and teamwork through hands-on experience under the supervision of experienced veterinarians.

The pay for this externship is commensurate with experience.
