Veterinary Extern - General Practice

About the role

Kingsburg Veterinary Clinic is a small animal clinic located in Central California. Established for over 50 years, we serve all the communities in our area. We have 3 full-time veterinarians and 2 part-time veterinarians, and we are extremely busy, seeing emergencies and accepting walk-ins.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gather patient histories, perform physical exams, create treatment plans, conduct diagnostics, provide dental services, observe/supervise or perform surgical procedures, and manage medical cases.
• Practice clinical skills including but not limited to: gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, conducting diagnostics, providing dental services, observing/supervising or performing surgical procedures, and managing medical cases.
• Develop communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Requirements

Veterinary students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate in NVA externships. Students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. The stipend amount for Kingsburg Veterinary Clinic is $1,500.
