Veterinary Extern - General Practice
About the role
An externship experience at Village East Animal Hospital will give students the opportunity to understand the day-to-day operations of the practice and gain valuable hands-on clinical experience. Students will work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gain experience in various aspects of veterinary practice, including:
- Gathering patient histories
- Performing physical exams
- Creating treatment plans
- Diagnostics
- Dentistry services
- Observing or assisting with surgical procedures
- Medical management of patients
Responsibilities
During their externship, students will:
- Practice their clinical skills under supervision
- Communicate effectively with the medical team, support staff, and clients
Requirements
Students must:
- Be enrolled in a veterinary school
- Have completed prerequisite coursework
- Be able to commit to a minimum of two weeks but up to eight weeks
Qualifications
