Veterinary Extern - General Practice
Job Description
An externship experience at Elmhurst Animal Care Center will give students the unique opportunity to understand the day-to-day operations of the practice and gain valuable hands-on clinical experience.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gather patient histories, perform physical exams, create treatment plans, conduct diagnostics, perform dentistry services, observe/supervise or perform surgical procedures, and manage medical cases.
- Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Requirements
Students must be veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education.
Qualifications
Elmhurst Animal Care Center welcomes all veterinary students regardless of class year.

The stipend amount for Elmhurst Animal Care Center is $1,500.
Schedule
