Veterinary Extern - General Practice

About the role

Responsibilities

• Exposure to a wide variety of diagnostic tools including radiology, ultrasound, hematology, and cytology.
• Work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gather patient histories, perform physical exams, create treatment plans, conduct diagnostics, assist with dental services, observe/supervise/schedule surgical procedures, and manage medical care.
• Practice clinical skills while also honing communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Qualifications

Veterinary students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate in NVA externships. Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. Click HERE to view list of stipend amounts and HERE for details on the stipend program.
