Veterinary Extern - General Practice
About the role
Canterbury Animal Hospital is a small boutique clinic located on the border between Portland Metro and the city of Tigard. We specialize in providing comprehensive care for both pampered pets and working dogs.
Responsibilities
- Gain experience in gathering patient histories
- Perform physical exams
- Create treatment plans
- Diagnose and treat various conditions
- Perform and assist with dental services
- Assist with surgical procedures under supervision
- Manage medical cases independently
- Communicate effectively with the medical team, support staff, and clients
Requirements
We welcome veterinary students at all stages of their education. Students must be enrolled in a veterinary school and actively participating in the clinical portion of their education.
Qualifications
While not specified, we encourage all veterinary students to apply. The hospital provides a travel/living expense stipend for students in the clinical portion of their education.
Skills
Strong communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a passion for animal health are essential.

Pay
