Veterinary Emergency Service Head

About the role

The Veterinary Emergency Service Head (ERSH) role at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Langhorne, PA, is a unique blend of clinical practice and leadership. This position offers the opportunity to shape the Emergency Service through scheduling, hiring, and training decisions, lead team meetings, and represent the ER department in hospital leadership.

Responsibilities

• Directly impact patient care by mentoring and supporting the ER clinician team.
• Play a key role in ensuring high-quality patient care and fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.
• Work closely with the Medical Director to achieve these goals.

Requirements

• DVM from an accredited university required.
• Successful completion of rotating internship or BluePearl’s EmERge program required.
• 2+ years of clinical experience required.
• Must possess a valid applicable DVM license.
• Demonstrated capacity to multitask and successfully manage competing priorities required.
• Prior shift lead experience preferred.
• Strong leadership ability with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated stress tolerance and attention to detail.
• Strong ability to mentor and train less experienced clinicians and interns.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed veterinarian.
• Must have a valid applicable DVM license.
• Must have 2+ years of clinical experience.
• Must have completed a rotating internship or BluePearl’s EmERge program.
• Must demonstrate strong leadership abilities, including effective communication and mentoring skills.
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Pay
