Veterinary Clinical Manager

About the role

We are seeking a full-time Veterinary Clinical Manager for our Emergency, Nursing, and Urgent Care teams. This role operates Monday through Friday during daytime hours, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can handle the stress of critical situations with ease. Reporting directly to the Hospital Director, the Clinical Manager develops and maintains a team of engaged and empowered members to provide exceptional service to patients, clients, and referral partners. This role collaborates with the Hospital Director and Medical Director to promote a culture of collaboration, foster career development, and cultivate inclusivity, contributing to healthy growth through optimal Employee and MedVet Experiences.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the department healthcare team has the resources and tools needed to deliver the MedVet Experience.
• Coach team members on process improvement fundamentals to ensure efficient and sustainable department operations.
• Collaborate with other departments to align goals and workflows.
• Develop, monitor, and adjust schedules according to workflow to maximize efficiency.
• Make recommendations for the purchase of needed supplies and equipment in collaboration with service/department representatives.
• Manage and influence department financial decisions and health.
• Effectively influence behavior and lead change in a rapidly growing organization while fostering a collaborative, service-oriented culture.
• Provide a comprehensive clinical onboarding training schedule for all team members.
• Deliver ongoing and continuous performance feedback, instruction, and follow-up to team members as part of a healthy Employee Experience.
• Negotiate and mediate conflict in partnership with the HR Partner.
• Perform initial screening of client and referral partner concerns and collaborate with the hospital dyad to resolve them.
• Provide written performance feedback and a development plan annually for each member of the healthcare team.

• Split time between clinical and administrative duties, with a minimum of 50% of time spent on administrative tasks (varies based on hospital/department size, number of direct reports, and staffing needs).

Requirements

• Associate degree or a combination of equivalent college-level courses and experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
• Capability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to prioritize duties and responsibilities to meet deadlines.
• Highly professional and able to work with people at all levels of the organization.
• Standard knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours in the hospital unless otherwise approved by the Hospital Director.
• Flexibility to meet the needs of the department, including a mix of after-hour and weekend coverage.
