Veterinary Assistant - Emergency

About the role

VCA TLC Pasadena Veterinary Specialty and Emergency is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our Emergency Department team. Located in South Pasadena, CA, this position offers competitive pay and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Assist doctors with exams, treatments, and procedures
• Venipuncture and IVC placement
• Administer SQ fluids, medications, etc.
• Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital
• Recognize subtle changes in clinical status
• Discharge instructions with clients
• Complete estimates, basic record keeping
• Surgical preparation
• Anesthesia monitoring
• Apheresis
• Diagnostics imaging (radiographs and assisting with ultrasounds)

Requirements

• 3 years of Veterinary and ICU experience (preferred)
• Proficient computer skills
• Outstanding communication skills
• Interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask
• Loves animals
