Veterinarian
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and growth-oriented Associate Veterinarian (DVM) to join a well-established, AAHA-accredited companion animal practice in Western New York. This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian who is passionate about providing exceptional patient care, building lasting client relationships, and working in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries in companion animals.
- Provide preventive and wellness care, including vaccinations, parasite prevention, nutritional counseling, and senior wellness evaluations.
- Perform routine soft tissue surgeries and dental procedures appropriate to your level of experience.
- Interpret laboratory findings, digital radiographs, ultrasound, and other diagnostic results to develop evidence-based treatment recommendations.
- Educate clients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, preventive care, expected outcomes, and home care instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
- Collaborate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and client service representatives to provide outstanding patient care.
- Mentor and support veterinary team members while fostering a respectful, positive workplace culture.
- Maintain compliance with New York State veterinary regulations and hospital policies.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
- Active or eligible for New York State veterinary licensure.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable performing surgery, dentistry, anesthesia monitoring, and client communication.
- Passion for delivering high-quality companion animal medicine.
- Commitment to teamwork, continuous learning, and professional development.
Practice Details
- AHHA-accredited companion animal hospital.
- Primarily treats dogs and cats.
- Approximately 20-35 appointments per doctor per day, in addition to scheduled surgeries.
- Modern diagnostic equipment and experienced technical support.

Work Schedule
Full-time position.
Four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts based on hospital needs.
No weekends.
No overnight on-call responsibilities.
Flexible scheduling available.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive annual salary: $130,000-$150,000.
