About the role
This role involves providing personal care services to clients in a home setting, primarily on weekends in the Rocky Mount area.
Responsibilities
- Follow individualized care plans and complete daily tasks via electronic documentation.
- Assist clients with self-help activities, including bathing, grooming, ambulation, meal preparation (including special diets), feeding, and oral hygiene.
- Utilize assistive devices such as walkers and wheelchairs, and ensure safety precautions and infection control are maintained.
- Perform secondary tasks like laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping, and meal prep within client-approved boundaries.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and report concerns or changes in client condition to supervisors.
- Respect client confidentiality, privacy, and rights, while delivering quality care within scope and seeking guidance when needed.
- Assist with medication self-administration (not direct administration) and report any suspected abuse or unsafe conditions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred, with the ability to read and write.
- At least 6 months of validated caregiving experience.
- Must be 18 years or older.
