About the role

The Inventory & Delivery Specialist plays a critical role in driving customer satisfaction by managing onsite inventory replenishment and safely transporting industrial products and compressed gas cylinders. This dual-focus position serves as the face of Airgas, partnering directly with customers to optimize their stock levels while ensuring complete compliance with safety and transportation regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Partners closely with customers to support their inventory management, facilitate seamless order entry, and collaborate with plant departments to monitor manual stock levels.
  • Safely loads, delivers, and unloads compressed gas cylinders and industrial products to customer locations, vending machines, and storerooms.
  • Maintains strict regulatory compliance by ensuring vehicle manifests, placards, cylinder labeling, and load strapping meet Airgas and government safety standards.
  • Conducts thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting deficiencies to ensure all safety items are in top working order.
  • Records all deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest, securing customer signatures for accurate tracking and receipt purposes.

Requirements

  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License.
  • Valid Medical Examiner's Card.
  • Hazmat & Airbrake Certifications.
  • One (1) year of prior Class B professional driving experience within the last five (5) years and a clean driving record to include no more than two (2) convictions, OR two (2) at-fault accidents in the last three years; OR no more than a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last three years.
  • In lieu of experience, may consider accepting a diploma from an accredited driving school and a minimum of one (1) year of prior driving experience within the last five (5) years.
  • Must be at least 21 years or older.

Qualifications

  • Proficient working knowledge of Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Requires frequent use of a computer, telephone and operation of a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 60 pounds with or without the use of a hand truck for distances up to 25 feet. May be required to transport and move up to 800 pounds with the use of material handling equipment.
