Local Delivery Driver (CDL B)

About the role

We are hiring a Local Delivery Driver in Sioux City, IA. This position requires a CDL B license with HazMat endorsement, one year of Class A or B CDL driving experience, a clean MVR, and a current Medical Examiner’s Card. The ideal candidate will handle compressed gas cylinders safely, maintain accurate records, adhere to safety standards, and provide warehouse support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations.
• Accurately record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt.
• Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling.
• Adhere to all Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations, including those from DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA.
• Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age.
• HazMat Required (one year of Class A or B CDL driving experience within the last 5 years or graduated from an accredited driving school).
• Class A or B CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Current Medical Examiner’s Card.
• Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
• Ability to routinely lift 25 – 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
• Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is also required.
• Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to work occasional overtime if necessary.

Qualifications

• Forklift Certification preferred.

Skills

Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with fleet management systems are beneficial.
