Local Delivery Driver (CDL B)

About the role

We are hiring a Local Delivery Driver in Davenport, IA. This position requires a CDL B license with HazMat endorsement, one year of Class A or B CDL driving experience, and a clean MVR. The ideal candidate will handle cylinders safely, keep accurate records, and adhere to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations.
• Accurately record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt.
• Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling.
• Adhere to all Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations, including those from DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA.
• Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age.
• HazMat Required: Must have one year of Class A or B CDL driving experience within the last 5 years or have graduated from an accredited driving school. Class A or B CDL with Hazmat endorsement. Hazmat can be obtained post-offer.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Current Medical Examiner’s Card.
• Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
• Ability to routinely lift 25 – 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
• Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is also required.
• Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to work occasional overtime if necessary.

Qualifications

• Forklift Certification preferred.
