Vehicle Sales Manager
About the role
As a Vehicle Sales Manager, you’ll be part of a dynamic team, equipped to succeed and empowered to develop your sales career. You will implement marketing, sales, and customer satisfaction initiatives to increase retail sales productivity. Through development of a strong retail network, you will maximize proceeds and gains on used vehicle sales. You will support the Vehicle Sales Center Manager and Area Trade/Wholesale Manager in identifying local and regional wholesale customers to dispose of "as is" and averaged inventory. You will proactively identify and pre-sell surplus assets to reduce inventory holding time and promote Ryder Financing initiatives to minimize repossessions while lowering the total time of sale.
You will enforce pricing strategies and assist in the coordination, identification, and transport of wholesale, trade, and export vehicles. You will work closely with district and region maintenance management to ensure vehicles are accepted for sale in Road Ready (8.1) condition. You will provide district asset management support by offering input on market conditions, pricing, and outservice timeliness and quality. You will ensure company and product line policies are implemented and promote effective Sales Center communication between internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
- Aggressively build a retail vehicle sales network through advertising, direct mail, prospect list development, walk-ins, cold calls, and sales events.
- Maintain inventory control through proper preparation of bills of sale, title information, warranty forms, and other vehicle sales promotional materials.
- Effectively communicate with customers, employees, and Vehicle Sales Management.
- Monitor customer satisfaction, developing and implementing continuous improvement processes to drive customer loyalty.
- Ensure vehicles are accepted for sale in Road Ready (8.1) condition.
- Monitor retail sales and marketing programs and promotions, providing valuable feedback and innovative solutions to minimize inventory holding time and maximize vehicle gains.
- Proactively identify surplus and deficient inventory levels, recommending solutions to reduce total holding time.
- Work closely with Area Trade/Wholesale Manager and Manager, International Vehicle Sales to coordinate identification, transportation, and deployment of area trade, wholesale, and export units.
- Assist in the local wholesaling of "as is" and over-aged equipment.
- Coordinate and evaluate area customer takeover units.
- Serve as an expert resource in market equipment demand, local pricing, and outservice quality and timeliness.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in post-secondary education preferred, with emphasis on marketing and sales assignments.
- 3 years or more in Ryder or industry experience in a variety of sales assignments.

Pay
Base Salary: $45,000
Average Commission Year One: $20,000 - $35,000
Average Commission Year Two: $45,000 - $55,000+
