Vascular Neurologist

About the role

The University of Minnesota Department of Neurology and the University of Minnesota Physicians seek a Vascular Neurologist to join our dynamic, rapidly growing cerebrovascular team which supports an 8-hospital system including comprehensive stroke center, thrombectomy-capable stroke center, primary stroke center, and six acute stroke ready hospitals.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct inpatient and outpatient care for patients with stroke and other complex cerebrovascular and neurological conditions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout the continuum of care
• Contribute to quality improvement processes including implementation of novel stroke care delivery paradigms
• Participate in pivotal local, national, and international clinical trials

Requirements

• Clinical expertise should be comprised of a medical degree and completion of an ACGME-accredited neurology residency and vascular neurology fellowship
• Ambitious and committed to educating trainees and contributing to ongoing clinical trials

Qualifications

• Board Certified Physician or Board Eligible Physician
• Prior telestroke experience is not required, but the individual should possess a strong interest in telemedicine and a desire to work collaboratively to provide for the cerebrovascular needs of our patients

Skills

• Broad neurology and vascular neurology expertise
• Ability to manage urgent non-stroke conditions such as status epilepticus
• Strong interest in telemedicine

Pay

Total salary is market competitive and based on AAMC salary benchmarks. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through M Physicians. The base salary range for this position is $275,000 - $350,000 commensurate with experience, qualifications, and cFTE.

Schedule

This position primarily utilizes twelve-hour day and night shifts with minimal long call (>12 hours consecutive coverage).
