Position Type: Temporary. Appointment Length: 12 months (could be extended).
Working Title: UTS - Temporary Phlebotomist at NC State; Classification: Temporary‑Clerical.
Responsibilities
- Perform phlebotomy
- Prepare specimens
- Perform other duties in a medical laboratory setting
- Provide appropriate, affordable, accessible, and high-quality primary health care to eligible students
- Deliver comprehensive disease‑prevention and health‑promotion programs for the NC State University community
- Provide outpatient care to the 34,000+ NC State student population
- Some level of medical care available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the academic year (August–May)
- Hours of service vary during summer and holidays/student breaks
- Provide excellent customer service while explaining specimen collection procedures and follow‑up care to patients as needed
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Work effectively in a team setting
- Participate in fire and emergency preparedness drills
Requirements
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) software
- Phlebotomy certification required
- CPR certification (Basic Life Saver) required
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license required
- Commercial driver’s license not required
