UTS - Temporary Administrative Support Specialist at NC State
Position Information
The Temporary Administrative Support Specialist provides administrative and operational support to the department, including support for department and center students, faculty, and staff. This position is responsible for efficiently processing vouchers, managing PCard reconciliations, handling travel authorizations and reimbursement requests, entering lab and center orders, tracking receivables, and serving as the front desk liaison for visitors. The role requires strong attention to detail, organization, communication skills, and customer service while supporting daily department operations. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements and Preferences
- Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am - 5pm
- Other Work/Responsibilities: Other duties as needed.
- Minimum Experience/Education: High School diploma or equivalent with office/business experience preferred. Experience providing administrative support, coordinating office operations, processing financial transactions, or supporting business functions is preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Department Required Skills: Strong office management and administrative support skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to provide excellent customer service and serve as a front desk liaison. Ability to process vouchers, manage PCard reconciliations, and support travel authorization and reimbursement processes. Ability to enter and track lab and center orders and maintain accurate records. Ability to track receivables and support department financial operations. Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle administrative information appropriately.
- Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education: 1+ years of experience in administrative support, office management, business operations, or related areas. Experience working with University financial and HR systems preferred. Experience processing financial transactions, reimbursements, purchasing requests, or related administrative functions. Experience working in a higher education environment preferred. Familiarity with university policies, procedures, and administrative processes preferred. Experience supporting faculty, staff, students, or research/academic departments preferred.
