Essential Job Duties

We are looking for a skilled Building Maintenance Technician to support day-to-day facilities operations on our campus. In this role, the candidate will keep university buildings running safely and efficiently by performing hands-on maintenance and repairs across electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. What You’ll Do:

• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and complete timely repairs.
• Respond to maintenance requests and work orders across campus facilities.
• Ensure work is completed safely and in compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Requirements and Preferences

• Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday 7 AM to 4 PM
• Minimum Experience/Education: 2 years of experience
• Department Required Skills: Hands-on technical and mechanical experience in at least one of the following: electrical, plumbing, or HVAC. Ability to diagnose equipment issues and determine appropriate repairs. Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently.
• Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education: Experience in a university, institutional, or large facilities environment. Relevant certifications such as HVAC, electrical, or plumbing license are a plus.
• Required License or Certification: Required license or certification for technical and mechanical work. Valid NC Driver’s License
