About the Role

ELM Utility Services, with a team of over 1700 employees nationwide, is offering a great opportunity for a Utility Locate Technician in the Ogden, Utah area. ELM Technicians are essential in their communities, ensuring that gas, electric, and communication systems are dependable and well-maintained. They perform high-quality utility marking to avoid damage during excavation of these vital facilities. Our technicians use the advanced LaunchPoint software system, which incorporates the latest technology to create efficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Company vehicle, fuel card, and cell phone are provided for you to take home each day.
  • Accurately, safely, and efficiently locate and mark underground utilities using marking paint, flags, and sometimes whiskers.
  • Use your mobile work system to receive your daily tasks.
  • Must be able to work on-call rotation and overtime as needed. This may include working on nights and weekends when necessary.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license

Pay

$24.50-$30/hr

Schedule

Working independently outdoors with your company-provided vehicle as your mobile office, you will complete a route of locate requests each day. Must be able to work on-call rotation and overtime as needed. This may include working on nights and weekends when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug, Motor Vehicle Record, and background check.

Skills

  • Highly accurate and efficient in marking underground utilities
  • Proficient in using LaunchPoint software system
  • Ability to work independently and on-call
