ELM Utility Services, with a team of over 1,900 employees nationwide, is offering a great opportunity for a Utility Locate Technician in the South Jordan, Utah area. Technicians are essential in their communities, ensuring that gas, electric, and communication systems are dependable and well-maintained.

About the role

Utility Locate Technicians perform high-quality utility marking to avoid damage during excavation of vital facilities. Technicians use the advanced LaunchPoint software system, which incorporates the latest technology to create efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Work independently outdoors with your company-provided vehicle as your mobile office, completing a route of locate requests each day.
• Accurately, safely, and efficiently locate and mark underground utilities using marking paint, flags, and sometimes whiskers.
• Use your mobile work system to receive daily tasks.
• Work on-call rotation and overtime as needed, including nights and weekends when necessary.

Requirements

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, Motor Vehicle Record check, and background check.
• High School Diploma or GED and at least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license.

Note: This is a Safety-Sensitive DOT position that must comply with all Federal Department of Transportation regulations. The use of marijuana (medical or recreational) is prohibited.
