Utility Locate Technician $24.50-$30.00/hr Bountiful, Utah

About the role

ELM Utility Services is seeking a Utility Locate Technician in the Bountiful, Utah area. Technicians play an essential role in their communities by ensuring gas, electric, and communication systems remain dependable and well-maintained through high-quality utility marking to prevent damage during excavation. This position uses the advanced LaunchPoint software system for efficiency.

A company vehicle, fuel card, and cell phone are provided and may be taken home each day, allowing you to start directly from home and drive to your first job site.

Responsibilities

• Work independently outdoors using a company-provided vehicle as your mobile office to complete a daily route of locate requests.
• Accurately, safely, and efficiently locate and mark underground utilities using marking paint, flags, and whiskers.
• Use a mobile work system to receive and manage daily tasks.
• Participate in on-call rotation and work overtime as needed, including nights and weekends.

Requirements

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, Motor Vehicle Record check, and background check.
• This is a Safety-Sensitive DOT position; compliance with all Federal Department of Transportation regulations is required. The use of marijuana (medical or recreational) is prohibited.
• High School Diploma or GED and at least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license.
