About the role

The Utility/Grounds Worker will be responsible for event setups and breakdown according to scheduled events, trash removal, special projects (floor and carpet cleaning), completion of assigned work orders and other related duties as required. Snow removal is a mandatory aspect of this job.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in the placement and set-up of tables, chairs, club tables, cocktail tables, and any other furniture utilized by the University to meet the needs of its various clients and departments.
  • Show proper working knowledge of floor equipment; burnishing machines, floor scrubbers, extractor machines, wet/dry vacuums, etc. is preferred but not necessary.
  • Maintain an ongoing rotation building by building of detailed project work.
  • Work with proper floor chemicals used in the process of flooring projects. Stripping and waxing as well as carpet extraction occurs occasionally throughout the year.
  • During the winter months, this position will be responsible for snow removal and is considered a mandatory part of this position.
  • Follow all safety and personnel rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write and understand English.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license per job requirements.
  • 1-3 years’ working experience in floor care.
  • Knowledge of cleaning products and standard cleaning practices.
  • Ability to prioritize and multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively with a team.
  • Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort.
  • Must be able to perform all physical aspects of the above job duties, including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Mandatory overtime (OT) is required during various times throughout the year.

Qualifications

Pay

$21.42 - $25.20

Schedule

Full-time, hourly, Monday – Friday 6:00pm – 2:30am
