Maintenance/Grounds

The Oxford Hills School District is seeking an excellent candidate for a Maintenance/Grounds position.

About the role

Supports the District's mission and goals. Works collaboratively with other maintenance workers and contractors in licensed fields. Performs assigned repair and maintenance work on buildings and grounds. Responds to building and grounds emergencies. Oversees the maintenance of the District's heating and cooling systems, as assigned. Removes snow and ice, as assigned. Helps in maintaining an effective and efficient system of routine maintenance and preventive care for the District's buildings and grounds. Advises appropriate administrator of future repair needs and services to District buildings and grounds. May be required to lift up to 50lbs, also may be doing twisting, bending, standing, walking, climbing while working. Assumes such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Director or designee.

Responsibilities

• Preventative Maintenance: Performing routine checks, inspections, and maintenance on various equipment and systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnosing and repairing issues with electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and other building components.
• Equipment Operation: Operating and maintaining various equipment like trucks, forklifts, and power tools used in maintenance and repair tasks.
• General Maintenance: Performing tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing repairs, and other general maintenance duties.
• Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and inventory.
• Safety Compliance: Ensuring adherence to safety regulations and procedures while performing maintenance tasks.
• Affirmative Action: Assisting with events and snow removal as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrates aptitude and competence for assigned responsibilities.
• Excellent driving record.
• Ability to obtain a Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) through the Maine Department of Education.
